What is a RSS Feed?

RSS means Really Simple Syndication. It is a way sharing and distributing web content, such as news headlines. Think of it like getting a magazine subscription, except it's electronic.

Using an RSS reader (also called aggregator), you can view feeds from various news sources like the Covenant News. There are many ways to use RSS feeds. For those of you who want the simple version, below are just a few fun uses for the Covenant News RSS Feed. For those of you who want to know more we recommend typing: rss feed or aggregator into http://www.wikipedia.org/

Covenant RSS Feeds

We have individual RSS feeds and a page that has a group of all of our current RSS feeds.

Fun things to do with Covenant RSS Feeds

1) In Firefox add any RSS feed as a bookmark. Look for the little orange icon which will appear to the right of the url (website address) in your browser's location bar. Just click on this icon and it will let you subscribe or create a bookmark which you can then see in your bookmarks tab.

2) If you use Google, MSN, Yahoo! Hotmail (and a variety of other websites) for your email, or have one of their personalized home pages, you can add a Covenant RSS feed to it. Each has their own directions which are fairly simple and easy to follow.

3) Add any of the RSS feeds to your Church website so your congregation can see Covenant news. Here is an easy and fun way to do this.

4) Some email programs allow you to get your RSS feed though email. See your email program "help" for more information.
