Domestic Violence Awareness Sunday

Domestic Violence Awareness Sunday

AVA is calling every Covenant congregation to host an awareness Sunday in October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness month.

One out of every four women and one out of six men have experienced domestic violence or childhood sexual assault which means that potentially 25% of congregations are currently victims or survivors. Many wish that the church would address these issues on Sunday morning. Women Ministries wants to help facilitate that process. Many resources are listed here including links to appropriate scripture texts, sermon helps, music, prayers, drama, literature, videos, and much more.

October is also a great time to host an AVA training in your church or to invite a Regional Coordinator to speak on abuse. For more help, email wmc(at)
