Burma Rural Clinics
The Karen people of Burma are internally displaced people (IDP’s). IDP’s are a form of refugee that have not left their country but are displaced. In Burma, the Karen people have been displaced by warfare for the last sixty years and as a result they have limited access to health care and emergency medical treatment. Through the Karen Department of Health and Welfare, we parner to provide medical care for over 6,000 people. These mobile medical clinics provide emergency medical care and also help to improve the overall health of the community.
