Ivory Coast Violence

Ivory Coast Violence

Covenant World Relief is partnering with World Relief International to provide life-saving aid to the most vulnerable who have been displaced because of the violence in the Ivory Coast.

Cote D’Ivoire has experienced a tragic civil war and since the elections in 2010 the violence has worsened. Militia fighting has dramatically impacted the lives of civilians. In Abijdan, a city of 5 million, nearly 1 million residents have been displaced by the violence. They have limited access to food, water, electricity and medical attention. In Duekoue, a western city, reports say that thirty people have died in the fighting and that nearly 20,000 have been displaced. In partnership with World Relief and local agencies, we are providing hygiene kits and medical equipment to a hospital in Duekoue.
