India Hindustani Covenant Church
The Hindustani Covenant Church is a leader in loving marginalized people and providing avenues for development. Covenant World Relief is grateful to partner with this church as they love and serve with the most vulnerable people in their communities.
In three different regions of India, people are struggling to support themselves for a variety of reasons. The Hindustani Covenant Church (HCC) and its development ministry Covenant Social Services (CSS) are helping families finance business ventures, advocate for themselves, and learn important vocational skills. Through education of children and women, continual change is happening despite the continued difficulties.
Lack of educational resources for women and children make it difficult for women to express themselves. Through self-help groups families will be empowered to find new ways to earn a living, children will be given health education and learn about disease prevention and youth will learn to be self-sustaining.
HCC is working toward empowerment of women, children, and poverty stricken families through education, self- advocacy training, and micro-financing of businesses. Because of persecution, natural disasters, and urbanization, these three areas of India require assistance in moving toward self-sustainability.
