God has created a wonderfully diverse world full of different colors, ethnicities, and cultures, and we desire to reflect that in the global personnel whom we send around the world. Serve Globally believes that to reflect God’s mosaic—where African-, Asian-, European-, Latino/a-, and Native-American missionaries go out in Jesus’s name—would embody the beauty and power of the gospel. We envision the whole church, in all of its diverse glory, participating in the Great Commission, and we get excited!
The Global Personnel Mosaic project seeks to convert this vision into action, acknowledging the obstacles that people of color have faced in attempting to engage in global mission.
Practically speaking, this project seeks to educate churches on the history, challenges, and opportunities of living into God’s mosaic in mission with the intent to create viable pathways for people of color to fully engage in global mission. Among other things, support for this appeal helps us to create a program to subsidize and therefore enable those who may be under-resourced to serve interculturally. This project will be pursued through collaboration with North Park University, retired and former global personnel of color, and community leaders who have experience and expertise in international engagement.
Will you prayerfully consider supporting this effort to incorporate God’s full mosaic in our ministry around the world?
For the sake of the gospel across cultures and around the world,
AL TIZON, Executive Minister of Serve Globally
DEBORAH MASTEN, Director of Global Personnel
