What drew you to the Covenant? What keeps you engaged in this movement of churches seeking to follow in the way of Jesus?
I get to serve a beautifully diverse, sometimes overthinking, but deeply sincere group of people who are really trying to follow Jesus in real life. I came from a Missionary Baptist background, and to step into a space where people looked at me—young, called, a woman—and said, “Yes, we see it too”… whew. That’ll do something to you. What’s kept me is the freedom to show up fully as who God called me to be. As a mom to a daughter, I need her to see that if God calls her, there is space for her to walk in it fully.
How goes your walk?
Renewal is not just institutional; it is deeply personal; it begins with us. How are you experiencing God’s renewing work in your life?
God’s renewing work in my life right now looks less like hype and more like depth. I’m in a season where God is slowing me down. Renewal has been about sitting with God without an agenda, letting prayer be less polished and more real.
As a Black woman of African descent, I’m experiencing a renewal that feels like returning home—home to the faith that raised me, the practices that held me, the kind of preaching that transformed by the power of God. There’s something sacred about reclaiming that—not as something I outgrew, but something that’s still forming me.

Where do you see the Holy Spirit breathing new life into your ministry?
Where are you witnessing signs of renewal in your congregation? Where are you seeing God doing “a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19)?
New people are coming every week. Our young people started a Christ Club at their high school and are studying the Word with our team. Young adult life groups have doubled. Senior members are stepping back in to serve and lead. It’s not one generation—it’s all of us, shaping one another. As we look ahead to 30 years of ministry in 2028, it doesn’t feel like we’re slowing down. It feels like we’re being revived.
