I grew up going to First Covenant Church in Salina, Kansas. Because I live outside of town, many of my church activities were with other denominations. What brings me back to the Covenant is the relational focus and the openness to understanding one another. Our church motto is “Deeper in Christ, Further in Mission,” and I believe it attests to how we love God and one another.
“More people are feeling called to overseas ministry, more are stepping into local outreach, and more are hungry for truth. God's harvest is ripe."
God is renewing my faith as I fundraise and transition into the role of global personnel with Serve Globally. There are new opportunities to trust God and more relationships and networks where I’m finding support and fellowship. There are also young believers in my community who are finding a passion for discipleship and global mission. God has allowed me to share with these passionate young believers and I have been encouraged in return.
I’m excited about the people I’ve met who are seeking new ways to participate in God’s mission. More people are feeling called to overseas ministry, more people are participating in local outreach, more people are applying for positions in their church. It’s inspiring to see how God is working through people and using their giftings. New life is even in the little things—people asking questions, wanting to learn more. People are hungry for truth, and God’s harvest is ripe.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
