I serve as executive pastor at Sanctuary Covenant Church, where I’ve served since 2010. I grew up Catholic and felt a call to ministry as a teenager. Through a friend, God led me to Covenant Bible College–Ecuador in 2003, where I met gifted women leading in active ministry. Through their example and the Covenant’s affirmation of women in ministry, I found a pathway to pursue my calling. I’m continually encouraged by the Covenant’s commitment to biblical justice and racial righteousness.
“After years of dreaming and delayed plans, Sanctuary 2:42 is taking root. A space for leaders to be formed in Christ, rooted in community, and equipped to lead faithfully."
Living and pastoring in Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge has renewed my faith and our communal call to biblical solidarity with those being oppressed. Our church focuses on prayer each January, and this year it was especially timely. Through weekly prayer nights, we prayed with sisters and brothers for our siblings most impacted by the federal government’s oppressive actions.
During that time, a sister shared that she was providing rides to a neighbor who worked the night shift—driving her early and late hours. She said she was exhausted, but, “What a gift it is to be inconvenienced in support of our neighbor.” That is renewal in a time of fear and grief but also love, compassion, and heartfelt prayer.
I recently celebrated 16 years at Sanctuary. One dream I’ve long held is a leadership development pathway for our staff, elders, and key leaders. Over the years, various teams worked toward it, but different local and global crises forced us to pivot or delay.
In 2025, led by Rev. Edrin Williams, our lead pastor, we finally put language to our core leadership values. Sanctuary 2:42 is a space for leaders to be intentionally formed in Christ, rooted in biblical community, and equipped to lead faithfully. I am looking forward to seeing what God will do through this pathway and hope it will outlive any single leader and continue to undergird the vision and identity of Sanctuary Covenant Church.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
