CHICAGO, IL (June 17, 2010) – Peter and Ruth Dutton, the new Department of World Mission regional coordinators for Asia, said today that they look forward to developing opportunities for expanding and deepening ministries throughout the region.

“Our challenge is to hear what God is doing and discern what we can do to join with God’s mission,” Peter said. He added, “We love being part of a team of people with years of experience from many cultures, seeking to give direction and bring wisdom to this complex mission.”

The Duttons have been serving in Thailand where they have worked with development projects. They succeed Ronna Husby. Dave Husby had served as co-regional coordinator with his wife until he became director of Covenant World Relief last year.

Dave said he is excited that the Duttons were chosen to be regional coordinators. “They are passionate about Jesus and his mission in the world. Peter and Ruthie have the complementary gifting, the expertise, and the life experience that make them extremely well-qualified for the position.”
