Memorial Service Saturday for Margaret Markuson

MERCER ISLAND, WA (April 6, 2011) – A memorial service for Margaret (Gusarson) Markuson, 94, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church minister Aaron Markuson, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Covenant Shores Retirement Community. She died April 1.

Markuson was born April 30, 1916, in South Dakota. She was married May 18, 1940. Her husband preceded her in death.

Markuson ministered alongside her husband at Covenant churches in Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Washington, and California, as well as during his 19 years serving as the denomination’s executive secretary of youth ministry, now the Department of Christian Formation.

Survivors include two children, John Markuson and Marcia Blomgren. Covenant News Service will publish additional information as it becomes available.
