Memorial Service Held for Frank Ashley

PORTLAND, OR (April 7, 2011) – A memorial service for former Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Frank Ashley, 60, was conducted March 20 at Sunnyside Methodist Church. He died March 17.

Ashley was born January 30, 1951, in Cloquet, Minnesota, where he grew up attending Bethany Evangelical Covenant Church. He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in urban studies from the University of Minnesota and attended Bethel Theological Seminary before receiving his master of divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary.

Ashley married Leanne Olson on June 9, 1979. He served Covenant churches in Minneapolis and Cook, Minnesota; Mason City, Iowa; and Ridgway, Pennsylvania. He also served as chaplain at hospitals in Oak Lawn and Urbana, Illinois.

Survivors include his former wife and daughter, Anika Ashley.
