Funeral Service on Monday for Ingeborg Skurdal

RED WING, MN (October 13, 2011) – A funeral service for Ingeborg (Langager) Skurdal, 99, widow of former Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Sverre Skurdal, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Covenant Church. She died Tuesday.

Ingeborg was born April 27, 1912, in Norway. She graduated from Mayville State College in Mayville, North Dakota. Following graduation, she taught school for a number of years.

The Skurdals were married in 1941. They lived in the Midwest for many years, where he served as a pastor at several churches before moving to Red Wing in 1977. He died on March 1, 2005.

She was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Wing. Skurdal was preceded in death by one son, Tim Skurdal. Survivors include one son, Leslie Skurdal of Arizona, and one daughter, Rosemary Craig of Westport, Connecticut.

Visitation will be observed on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. It is suggested that memorials be directed to First Covenant Church.
