Funeral Service Planned for Allan C. Johnson

MILWAUKIE, OR (January 19, 2012) – A funeral service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Allan C. Johnson, 75, will be conducted at 6 p.m. January 25 at Milwaukie Covenant Church. He died Tuesday.

Johnson was born January 29, 1936, in Chicago. He earned a diploma from North Park Academy, earned an Associate of Arts degree from North Park Junior College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College, and a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary.

He married Carolyn Larson on July 29, 1960. She survives.

Johnson served First Covenant Church in Eureka, California; Selah Covenant Church in Washington; Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst, Ohio; and Milwaukie Covenant Church in Oregon.

Johnson served on multiple national and conference committees, including the Covenant Nominating Committee and Board of the Ordered Ministry.

Other survivors include a daughter, Lynne Lindberg, and three sons: Phil Johnson, Tim Johnson, and Steve Johnson.
