GOLDEN VALLEY, MN (May 9, 2012) – A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Donald Pearson, 85, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (tomorrow) at Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton, Minnesota. He died Monday.
Pearson was born April 10, 1927, in Albert City, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and graduated from North Park Theological Seminary. He also studied pastoral counseling at the Oberlin Graduate School of Theology.
Pearson married Dorothy Carlson on June 14, 1950, in Warren, Minnesota. She survives.
He was ordained in 1956 and served West Hills Covenant Church in Portland, Oregon; First Covenant Church in Sioux City, Iowa; and Covenant Community Church in Fairfield Ohio.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, David Erickson-Pearson, and two daughters, Cynthia Hawkinson, and Joan Pearson.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the church.
