Memorial Service Saturday for C. LaVerne Erickson

NORTHBROOK, IL (May 22, 2012) – A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor C. LaVerne Erickson, 101, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Covenant Village of Northbrook. He died Friday, May 18.

Erickson was born January 11, 1911, in Jamestown, New York. He attended North Park Junior College and graduated from North Park Theological Seminary and Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

He married Bernice Erickson on June 10, 1936. She preceded him in death.

Erickson served as pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson, Indiana; Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa; Swedish Congregational Church in Milford, Massachusetts; Emanuel Covenant Church in Rochester, New York; Berkeley Covenant Church in Berkeley, California; Bethel Covenant Church in Topeka, Kansas; Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, Nebraska; Evangelical Covenant Church in Northlake, Illinois; and Lund Covenant Church in Lund, Wisconsin.

Survivors include three daughters: Corene Johnson, Vernice Peterson, and Judy Anderson.
