CHICAGO, IL (April 28, 2011) – Ruth Hill, executive minister of the Department of Women Ministries, has accepted an offer to become the national awareness coordinator for Shared Hope International, an anti-human trafficking organization.
Hill announced Tuesday that her last day with the Covenant organization will be May 17.
Earlier this year she announced she would not seek another term – her current term would have ended August 31. Earlier this month, Meagan Gillan was nominated to replace Hill. Gillan will stand for election during the 126th Annual Meeting in June in Estes Park, Colorado.
Shared Hope’s founder, Linda Smith, and Hill became acquainted while working together on anti-trafficking issues. Women Ministries has been selling Smith’s book, Renting Lacy, the past two years.
Hill said the job provides the extra benefit of being near her daughter’s family, who live in Vancouver, Washington, where Hill and her husband, Brad, will be located.
