TURLOCK, CA (May 14, 2013) – A memorial service for Doris (Reymerth) Derby, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church pastor L. Jackson Derby, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Covenant Village of Turlock. Derby, 98, died May 1.
She was born in March 1915. The Derbys married in 1939. The couple served a number of Free churches before he accepted a call to Colony Covenant Church in Kingsburg, California. They subsequently served Covenant congregations in Antioch, California; Dearborn, Michigan; San Andreas, California; and Phoenix, Arizona.
In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Krause.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be directed to the Covenant Village Benevolent Fund.
