CovChurch.tv Posts Lecture on Nvyall’s Influence

CHICAGO, IL (October 11, 2013) – Scott Erickson’s lecture about the continuing impact David Nyvall has on the Evangelical Covenant Church and North Park University can now be seen online.

Erickson presented the lecture Thursday night at the school in honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth Nyvall, an early denomination leader and founding president of North Park.

The lecture also explored the ways in which Nyvall’s character and resolve helped him withstand external pressures to conform to the religious and cultural landscape.

Erickson graduated from the university in 1989 and from North Park Theological Seminary in 1993. His doctoral dissertation at Uppsala University in Sweden focuses on Nyvall and draws on voluminous primary sources housed at the F. M. Johnson Archives and Special Collections at North Park.
