BEVERLY, MA (October 2, 2015) Former Covenant pastor Peter McKay, 72, died Wednesday after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born in Athol, Massachusetts, on June 30, 1943. He graduated from Gordon College with a bachelor of philosophy degree and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with an M.Div.
Peter married Pat Roix on April 16, 1964.
He initially served Baptist congregations before transferring his ordination to the Covenant. Peter served Trinity Covenant Church in Plainville, Connecticut, and was director of administrative services at Covenant Children’s Home in Cromwell, Connecticut, where Pat also served as public relations coordinator and activities director.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. October 10 at Northshore Community Baptist Church in Beverly.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by two sons, Peter J. McKay, and Trevor McKay; and 12 grandchildren.
