robert-nelson-obit-photoLOUISVILLE, KY (October 11, 2016) — A memorial service for retired Covenant pastor Robert “Bob” W. Nelson, 79, was held Thursday, September 22, at Okolona Christian Church. He died Monday, September 19.

Bob was born May 17, 1937, in Turlock, California, to Rev. Wesley and Margaret Nyquist Nelson. Bob graduated from North Park with a master of divinity degree in 1964. He ministered to churches in California, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, and Kentucky.

Among those who preceded him in death include his first wife, Elaine Hawkinson Nelson; sister, Marjorie Sundquist; and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Peck Nelson; four daughters, Karen Nelson Lane, Cathy Habermehl, Nancy Haysley, and Marcia Embry; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
