CHICAGO, IL (April 13, 2017) –The Covenant Companion was named the best denominational magazine at the annual Evangelical Press Association convention for the second year in a row. The Companion also won first place in the feature article category for Bob Smietana’s article “When Ministers Moonlight.”

Second place recognition in editorial went to Covenant Companion Online for Stan Friedman’s article “The Awful Command to Love our Enemies.”

In total, the magazine and Covenant Companion Online earned 10 awards. EPA consists of more than 300 members: periodicals, organizations and individual members, with a combined circulation of 15 million readers. Awards are given in more than 60 categories.

Ed Gilbreath, executive director for Covenant Communications, said, “It’s definitely humbling and affirming of our efforts to be selected as a top denominational magazine for the second year in a row. It says a lot about the hard work of the Communications team, as well as the amazing Covenanters whose stories we share in every issue of the Companion. What’s equally encouraging is the privilege we have at EPA to gather together with our peers from other denominations and ministries, to learn from each other and cheer each other on.”
