GOLDEN VALLEY, MN (May 12, 2017) – A memorial service was conducted April 30 for Harriett “Toots” Swanson, widow of Covenant pastor Berner V. Swanson. She died April 22 at the age of 92.
Harriett was born January 3, 1925, in Oakland, California. She married Berner on June 13, 1953.
They served Covenant churches in Kane, Pennsylvania; Stanton, Iowa; Stockton, California; Braham, Minnesota; and Waverly, Nebraska, until his retirement in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Kerstin (John) Hilton and Karlene (Sheldon) Crabtree; and a son, Gordy (Anne Vining) Swanson; and two grandchildren.
The memorial service was conducted at Covenant Village of Golden Valley. She was buried during a private interment service at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
