PORTLAND, OR (August 21, 2017) — A memorial service for Emma Place, 19, daughter of First Covenant Church pastor Kent Place and his wife, Janice, will be conducted from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 25, at Eastridge Covenant Church in Clackamas, Oregon.

Emma and her friend Emily Lang, 19, died in a hiking accident Saturday, August 13, when they fell 150 feet from a trail on Mt. Hood. See Emma for previous story.

Emma was born February 18, 1998. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Erin, Laura, and Abby.

Emma was one of four teens whose mission trip to India was documented for Project Blue at CHIC 2015.
