PRINCETON, MN (March 26, 2019) – A memorial service for Dorothea Berggren, widow of pastor Willard L. Berggren, was conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Karmel Covenant Church.

Dorothea died Monday, March 18, at the age of 87.

She was born December 4, 1931. She married Willard on August 16, 1952.

The couple served South Park Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois; Mt. Washington Covenant Church in Jonesville, Virginia; Community Covenant Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Elim Covenant Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. After retiring, Willard served interim pastorates in Princeton and Harris, Minnesota.

Dorothea also worked in the University of Minnesota Department of Family Social Science before retiring in 1997.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Holm, Barbara Rose-Brown, Virginia Kennedy; a son, Lowell Berggren; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
