Retired Covenant pastor Bob Hirsch passed away on December 25, 2022, at Covenant Living of Turlock, California. He was 91.

Robert Ernest Hirsch was born on March 23, 1931, in Blue Island, Illinois. After high school, he attended North Park College, then eventually North Park Theological Seminary, graduating with a master’s of divinity degree. He also attended North Illinois University, where he earned a master’s of education degree.

At 21, Bob married Lois Englund, and their union produced five children,. Together, Bob and Lois served churches in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, and Massachusetts. Bob also served at Covenant Point Bible Camp in Michigan and Mission Springs Bible Camp in California, and most recently, served as chaplain for Covenant Living at Turlock.

Bob was known for his love for music, and sang often in numerous choirs and groups and as a soloist from time to time. He was known to call family members and wish them happy birthday by singing to them in Swedish.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and his son Douglas. He is survived by his son Paul; three daughters, Sheryl Noren, Beth Walker, and Allyse Morgan; 16 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren

A memorial service will be held at Covenant Living of Turlock at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant Ministries of Benevolence.
