Retired Covenant minister Rev. Norman Bagaas passed away
March 26, 2024. He was 76.

Norman Garfield Bagaas was born on July 9, 1947. He earned an English degree from Moorhead State College in 1969, where he met Gwen Elstad. They married on July 11, 1970. Norman later earned a seminary degree from North Park Theological Seminary in 1977 and was ordained to word and sacrament the following year.

Together they served churches in Kingsburg, California, where Norm was involved in starting a Spanish-speaking Covenant church; Alexandria, Minnesota, where he helped start a Christian counseling center; Jamestown, New York; and Wyoming, Minnesota. He served on boards in the Pacific Southwest Conference and the Northwest Conference.

Norm is survived by his wife, Gwen; daughter, Susannah Johnson (Conor); and two granddaughters. A memorial service was held at Eastside Covenant Church in Tucson, Arizona, which can be viewed online at this link.
