Venita Meyers, wife of the late Rev. Gerald “Jerry” Meyers, passed away on April 28, 2026, in Modesto, California. She was 91.

Venita was born April 1, 1935, in Hope, Arkansas, to Martha Louise (Neal) and Oscar George “Red” Andrews.

Venita married Gerald “Jerry” Meyers on June 7, 1952, and together they raised a family of seven children. In her later years, the family grew to include 39 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Together, they served West Point Community Covenant Church in West Point, California, for nearly thirty years. Venita was known for the warmth and faith she poured into her family and church community across generations.

Venita was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; sister Virginia Andrews; brother-in-law John Elam; sons-in-law Robbie Wilson and Dan Harris; grandson Ayden Garcia; and great-granddaughter Terra Meyers. She is survived by her children, Geri “Missy” of Lockeford, California; Denise (Steve) Mote of Wilseyville, California; Liesel Williams (Dean) of Brentwood, California; Larelle Miller (Dan) of Post Falls, Idaho; Janelle Ponte (Ed) of Sparks, Nevada; and Taryn Garcia (Tony) of West Point, California; Scott (Heather) of Minnesota; her sister Duveen Elam of Cave Junction, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on May 30 at West Point Community Covenant Church, followed by a gathering at West Point Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Venita’s memory may be sent to Pipi Youth Camp, P.O. Box 87, West Point, CA 95255.
