Request for Nominations: Superintendent of the Midsouth Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church

The Midsouth Conference has begun the prayerful process of discerning who God is calling to serve as our next superintendent.

Dear Covenanters,

The Midsouth Conference has begun the prayerful process of discerning who God is calling to serve as our next superintendent.

This is an important season in the life of our conference. The superintendent provides spiritual leadership, works collaboratively with pastors and churches, encourages and equips leaders, and helps guide the conference as we pursue God’s mission together. The person elected at the 2027 Family Reunion (conference annual meeting) will help lead the Midsouth Conference into our next chapter of ministry.

The Midsouth Executive Board is serving as the Search Committee and has been entrusted with presenting one nominee to the annual meeting for election. While this responsibility rests with the committee, we recognize this is ultimately God’s work of discernment. We therefore invite you to join us in prayer and to share your wisdom and perspective.

Nominate a Candidate

We welcome nominations from throughout the Evangelical Covenant Church. If there is someone you believe possesses the character, gifts, and experience to serve faithfully in this role, please send us:

  • The person’s name
  • A brief explanation of why you believe they should be considered

Please submit nominations to nominations@midsouthconf.org by October 1, 2026. All nominations and correspondence will remain confidential and will be shared only with the Search Committee.

Please find the Statement of Qualifications for Superintendent here add hyperlink. We encourage you to review this document as you pray and consider your nomination.

The Search Committee is committed to listening broadly and thoughtfully, seeking perspectives from every part of our conference and the wider Covenant family. Your participation will help us discern God’s leading as we seek the person God is preparing for this ministry.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer and discernment. We are grateful for your participation and ask you to continue to pray that God will make his will clear throughout this process.

Sincerely in Christ,

Flint Barnes
Chair, Midsouth Conference Superintendent Search Committee
