CHICAGO, IL (March 17, 2011) – In addition to the many recreational opportunities available to everyone who attends the Feast, special events have been scheduled for youth and young adults, says John Duball, pastor of New Day Covenant Church in Rochester, Minnesota.
The family event will be held June 25-28 at the YMCA of the Rockies camp in Estes Park, some 65 miles northwest of Denver.
A roller-skating welcoming party will be open to youth and ultimate night games will provide high-octane entertainment on the second night. The movie “To Save a Life” will be shown at an outdoor movie night at the amphitheater on the final evening. Following the film, there will be time for a special “under the stars” reflection and prayer.
Young adults can plug in with the youth activities or participate in Afterglow options. An adventure race will pit teams against each other. Teams will be given a map of the camp and will need to find marked spots and then perform tasks.Duball says the activities are an important part of the Feast. “Sometimes we get so caught up in the fast pace of life, we miss out on finding time to engage in fun and energizing activities.”
Recreational opportunities for everyone include hiking, swimming, fishing, mountain biking, outdoor climbing tower, challenge course with high and low ropes, zip lines, horseback riding, half-day rafting trips and many more.
The plethora of activities is in keeping with this year’s theme: “PLAY…for the kid in all of us!”
Visit the Feast website for more information and to register. Early registration is available through May 3.
