Week of Prayer Material Available for Download

CHICAGO, IL (December 2, 2013) — Week of Prayer material is now available for free download.

Truly Praying: Shaped by the Scriptures can be downloaded in English, Spanish, and Korean in two formats and may also be enlarged for the sight-impaired. It is only available as a download and will not be available in print form.

The non-dated resource can be used by individuals as well as in groups one day a week or over the course of seven weeks

“For more than 60 years, the Evangelical Covenant Church has provided materials for a week of prayer during the month of January,” says Millie Lungren of the Department of Christian Formation. “Whether scheduled at the beginning of a new year or at another time, challenging and equipping followers of Jesus to live a life of prayer is central to our task.”

Lungren added that the week focuses on more than prayer. “We want it to lead to a deeper faith, a greater integration of word and deed, and a more glorious hope in Jesus,” she said.

Geoff Twigg, worship arts project coordinator for the ECC, wrote the material.
