BATAVIA, IL (October 2, 2017) – Covenant Retirement Communities recently completed a $2.5 million renovation that doubled the number of assisted-living apartments and upgraded other parts of the 36,000-square-foot Harry Ekstam Assisted Living neighborhoods at The Holmstad.

“The vision for this renovation was much bigger than expanding memory care,” said executive director Amanda Gosnell. “The renovations included new dining rooms in each neighborhood while also creating more usable common living areas and activity rooms incorporating the LifeConnect philosophy of holistically caring for residents.”

Ekstam Assisted Living offers residents assistance with daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, bathing, and medication management, as well as memory support services through SAIDO Learning. SAIDO Learning is a non-pharmaceutical treatment has that has been shown to improve the symptoms of memory loss among older adults with dementia.
