Central Conference Welcomes Two Churches

SHEBOYGAN, WI (May 3, 2012) – Delegates to the Central Conference annual meeting celebrated the addition of two churches and certain changes related to the two camps located within the conference.

The meeting was held April 26-28 at Zion Covenant Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

It was announced that the debt for the Jackson Activity Center at Covenant Harbor was retired. The $3.5 million multi-purpose building, which greatly expanded the camp’s ability to do ministry, was dedicated in 2009.

Erik Strom was officially introduced as the new director of Covenant Point Bible Camp.

Two churches were adopted: River City Community Church of Chicago, Illinois, and New Zion Christian Fellowship Covenant Church of Dolton, Illinois. Delegates also acknowledged the closure of Glenview Covenant Church of Glenview, Illinois, and Morningside Covenant Church of Rockford, Illinois.

The 2011 financial report showed that the conference had expenses totaling $1.06 million and revenue of $889,972. Delegates approved a revised 2012 budget with revenue of $761,500 and expenses totaling $801,500. The 2013 budget projects $772,790 in revenue and $812,794 in expenses.

There were 143 attendees, including 81 delegates from 63 churches.
