SEATTLE, WA (March 26, 2018) — Donna (Freeman) Swanberg, widow of Covenant pastor Harold Swanberg, died February 25 in Seattle. She was 85.
Donna was born January 12, 1933, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and grew up in Seattle. She graduated from Seattle Pacific College and worked as an elementary school teacher.
She married Harold Swanberg on August 13, 1955. The couple served Covenant churches in Savonburg, Kansas; New London, Connecticut; Gresham, Oregon (Hillside); Nelson, British Columbia; Lowry, Minnesota; Kane and Ludlow, Pennsylvania; and Emo, Ontario. Donna helped organize preschools at several of the churches.
She is survived by two sons, Greg (Maggie) and Scott (Pam) Swanberg; and a daughter, Julie (Mark) Hjelm; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A private family service is planned.
