Memorial Services for Thornbloom, Hallsten Set

CHICAGO, IL (January 7, 2019) – Memorial services have been set for Covenant ministers Janet Thornbloom and Edwin (Ed) Hallsten Jr.

The memorial service for Thornbloom will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, at North Park Covenant Church in Chicago. She served as a missionary in the Democratic Republic of Congo for 44 years.

She died on Monday, December 3, 2018, at the age of 79. A previously published obituary can be read here.

The memorial service for Hallsten will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2018, at Bethesda Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois. His ministry included pastoring Covenant congregations and serving as associate professor of pastoral care and counseling at North Park Theological Seminary.

Hallsten died Thursday, November 1, at the age of 87. A previously published obituary can be read here.
