Lyndsey Watson has been hired to serve as the ministry specialist for Covenant Kids Congo, the child sponsorship community development partnership between the Evangelical Covenant Church and World Vision focused on northwest Democratic Republic of Congo.
Watson most recently served as associate pastor at Cascade Covenant Church in North Bend, Washington. A runner who has participated in races across the country to raise support for water projects, she has helped build the church’s relationship with Covenant Kids Congo and inspired more than 100 participants to participate each year in World Vision’s Global 6K race. The church has more than 150 sponsorships. Watson also has visited the ministry in northwest Congo.
Covenant Kids Congo became part of Covenant World Relief and Development last year. “Lyndsey has already begun to recognize opportunities for greater synergy between Covenant Kids Congo and other ministries of Covenant World Relief & Development,” says Adam Edgerly, Covenant World Relief & Development director. “We look forward to years of fruitful ministry through her leadership.”
