Regular Triennial Registration Deadline on Monday

DOWNEY, CA (May 29, 2010) – Monday is the regular registration deadline for Triennial XIII, which is sponsored by the Department of Women Ministries of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

One woman will be going because a teenager was grateful for the financial assistance that helped her attend CHIC.

Joanna Hale had raised money for students at Redeemer Covenant Church to attend the last two CHIC events. When one of those teenagers, Karina Hynes, learned Hale was not sure about attending Triennial XIII in Washington, D.C., she decided to return the favor.

“I just wanted her to be able to go,” says Hynes. “She had done so much for us.”

So Hynes has been working alongside Hale and other church members at Dodgers Stadium, where they are paid to hand out special promotional items to fans.

Hale says when Hynes told her about wanting to help, “I thought it was very cool.”

Hale and other church members have raised money for the last two CHICs by working at the stadium. The church is one of two nonprofit organizations that are employed to help with the promotions, Hale says.

“The Dodgers have been very gracious to us,” Hale says.

Triennial XIII will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel from July 22-July 25.
Cost is $360 for individuals and $288 for groups of 10 or more. Click here for more information. A late registration cost of $390 begins June 1 and continues through July 18.
