OMAHA, NE (June 14, 2010) – The Midwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church has rescheduled next year’s 125th Annual Meeting to April 15-16, 2011.
The meeting will take place two weeks earlier than the originally scheduled April 29-30 because Berkshire-Hathaway – Warren Buffett’s parent company – will convene its own annual meeting that weekend. That event will draw 40,000 people to the city and already has led hotels to at least double and even quadruple room rates. Berkshire-Hathaway is headquartered in Omaha.
Superintendent Ken Carlson says he regrets that the move places the meeting on Palm Sunday weekend, but no other date was workable.
