Billy left behind his parents, pastors of Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake, Illinois, a sister, Lauren, and his younger brother, Michael, a college basketball standout with whom he shared a special bond.
Playing courageously through his grief, Michael Orris helped lead his Northern Illinois University Huskies basketball team to the school’s first winning season in a decade. Billy used to attend every one of his brother’s games, and even moved across the country to support Michael’s dreams. Now, Michael plays to honor Billy’s memory.
