The Covenant Companion received multiple honors this year from the Evangelical Press Association, including first-place awards for writing and visual storytelling, recognition for podcasting and themed editorial work, and second place in the Denominational (Digital) category for the Companion website and CovChurch Now email newsletter. The magazine also received two awards from the Associated Church Press. Judges praised the publication’s ability to pair thoughtful storytelling with strong visual presentation and cultural relevance.
Jelani Greenidge’s “Spiritual Lessons” series received first place in Article Series, with judges describing the work as “powerful on several levels” and praising how the series connected the history and theology of Negro spirituals to readers’ own lives. The accompanying “Songs of Deliverance” collages by Jane Chao Pomeroy, featured in the Summer 2025 print issue of the Companion, were recognized for bringing “depth, history, and heart” to the project through imagery that was “fresh” and “unexpected.” Kathy Khang’s “More Than Seen” was praised as an “honest, articulate, and insightful exposition” that offered a compelling connection between Scripture and the experiences of Asian American Pacific Islander women today. Judges also described the Companion’s digital publication as “an outstanding digital publication that entices readers to want more.”
Congratulations to our award-winning contributors and creative team!
