Memorial Service Planned for Elaine Ahlstedt

SPRING VALLEY, CA (July 18, 2011) – A memorial service is being planned for Elaine (Lundstrom) Ahlstedt, 91, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church minister Jerome Ahlstedt. No date has been set.

Ahlstedt died June 29 at Mt. Miguel Covenant Village in Spring Valley.

She was born August 8, 1919, in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and North Park Junior College in Chicago, Illinois.

The couple was married June 14, 1944. He died in 2002.

She served alongside her husband at First Covenant Church in Bessemer, Pennsylvania; Fairfield Evangelical Covenant Church in Haxtun, Colorado; Salem Covenant Church in Duluth, Minnesota; North Haven Evangelical Covenant Church Cuyahoga Falls, Minnesota; Evangelical Covenant Church of Oberlin, Kansas; and First Covenant Church of Peoria, Illinois. They also served churches in Portland, Oregon, and Graham, Washington.

Ahlstedt was interred in Bessemer, where her husband also is buried. She is survived by her son, Mark.
