JAMESTOWN, NY—Evangelical Covenant Church minister Philip Rohler died Thursday, July 15. He was 72.
Philip was born on December 2, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James and Eleanor (McPherson) Rohler.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cedarville University, a master of arts degree from Illinois State University, and master’s of divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. He also studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Bethel Seminary, and Graham Bible College.
He married Pamela Kay Anderson on May 20, 1972.
He served Covenant churches in Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Pender, Nebraska; and Sioux City, Iowa; Aberdeen, Washington; Lyndhurst, Ohio (interim); and Chetek, Wisconsin. He most recently served as pastor of Pilgrim Memorial United Church of Christ in Jamestown.
Survivors include his children Adam Rohler (Amy) and Elizabeth Johnson (Brian), and four grandchildren. His wife, Pamela, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 23, at First Covenant Church in Jamestown.
