Hope Sunday

A Hope Sunday is a day dedicated to sharing Covenant Kids Congo child sponsorship. It’s a beautiful opportunity that will transform hearts in your church community, while also transforming the city of Gemena in northwest DR Congo. As a church body, you can grow through this experience together. See what happens when your whole church unites to walk alongside our friends in Congo.

01

Sign up online at least three weeks before your Hope Sunday. We recommend ordering enough folders for about 20% of your regular attendance.

03

Invite a CKC Speaker

Please contact us 3-4 months ahead of time to request a speaker.

04

Recruit Volunteers

Your volunteers will set up the table on your Hope Sunday, answer questions, and collect sponsorships. Give this handout to your volunteers.

05

Announce

Announce your Hope Sunday during your service for 2 weeks before. Play a short video below with each announcement. These videos are great for announcements.

06

Have your Hope Sunday

Choose a CKC video from below to play during your Hope Sunday service. At the very end of the service, invite everyone to stop by the sponsorship table. Sponsors will sign up by filling out the tear-off card inside the sponsorship folder and turning it into the volunteers at the table.

07

MAIL

All done? Mail completed sponsorships and any extra child sponsorship folders back to World Vision. You can use the large business reply envelopes that came in your Hope Sunday kit.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
