COVENANT WORLD RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT

Kids Helping Kids

12–PART RESOURCE

Caring for God's Creation

Through the Kids Helping Kids resource, children will learn from and be inspired by children from around the world. The following resource shares stories from children who are involved in caring for God’s creation through Covenant partnerships.

12–PART RESOURCE

Refugees Around the World

Refugees are our neighbors—they may live close to us or on the other side of the world. Right now, more than 122 million people are displaced from their homes, and approximately 49 million of them are children under the age of 18. This Kids Helping Kids curriculum hopes to bring children closer to this global issue and illuminate ways they can make a difference.

12–PART RESOURCE

Clean Water

One of every eleven people on the planet has no access to clean water (World Vision). That’s 733 million people who lack basic drinking water access. Unsafe water leads to or worsens malnutrition, which contributes to nearly half of all deaths of children under five. Kids Helping Kids has enabled children in United States and Canada to offer hope and opportunity to children in some of the world’s most destitute places.

12–PART RESOURCE

After a Disaster

Disasters can strike anywhere but are most devastating in locations where there is a lack of resources and infrastructure to help people through them. And the devastation affects millions of children every year, and often carries on to the next generation of children. This Kids Helping Kids curriculum addresses the need for responding to the world’s disasters with tangible help and support.

11–PART RESOURCE

Peacemaking

Conflict is a worldwide problem. It comes in a variety of forms and affects millions of children. This Kids Helping Kids curriculum addresses the need for peace among friends, family, religions, warring factions, hurting mothers, refugees, tribes, persons with disabilities, people in poverty, those who are persecuted, and those impacted by disasters. Although the need is great, Kids Helping Kids provides hope for a way forward.

12–PART RESOURCE

Vulnerable Children

Through this Kids Helping Kids resource, children will learn from and be inspired by children from around the world. The following resource shares stories from orphaned and vulnerable children and the ways that Covenant partners are showing the love of Christ by caring for and supporting children and families.

CovChurch Now is a weekly email to share news, stories, and resources with the Covenant family.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
