Church Safety

The Evangelical Covenant Church is committed to the safety and well-being of children, youth, and vulnerable people in our congregations. Making Churches Safer is a resource developed to help educate local Covenant churches on reducing the risk of abuse, injury, and illness — because every person in our care deserves to be protected.

Reporting

Abuse of a Child or Vulnerable Person

If you have reason to believe a child or vulnerable person is being abused, contact local authorities immediately. Learn your state's mandatory reporting laws at ChildWelfare.gov.

General Safety and Abuse Prevention

For any matter related to safety or abuse prevention in a Covenant church or affiliated ministry, please contact your regional conference.

Covenant Clergy Reporting

If you believe you have experienced or observed any actions of Covenant clergy that violate the Pastor Ethical Guidelines — including any kind of discrimination, spiritual abuse, abuse of power, sexual harassment, or harassment of any other kind — please let us know by filling out this form.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
