O Holy Spirit, Sustainer of life, you who hovered over creation at the beginning and poured out upon the Church at Pentecost—come to us again.
We have not easily followed your ways. We have trusted in our own understanding, walked in the counsel of the world, and found ourselves weary, distracted, and dry. Like bones in the valley, we have lost our strength and hope.
Breathe upon us now that we may live. Stir what has grown still within us, soften what has hardened, awaken what has fallen asleep, and fill us with your presence. Pour upon us your holy fire of renewal and transform us that we may walk in your ways and delight in your Word. Guide us so that we would not sit in the seat of indifference but rise in joyful obedience, ready to participate in the work of your kingdom.
As you formed one body from many peoples, form us again into your Church—united and sent in your power. Renew us and the Covenant Church. Renew our passion for your mission. Renew our joy in your presence. Renew our life together in you.
Through your power, send us out to live as the witnesses of your light and participants in your redeeming work in the world.
