Strengthening Lay Leaders for Lasting Impact

Practical tools and resources to help churches form lay leaders who serve with clarity, confidence, and skill.

Something New Is Taking Shape

A New and Growing Area of Focus

If you feel like much of the ministry depends on you, you’re not alone. For many pastors and key leaders, this is a daily reality. Across our churches, faithful people are stepping into leadership every day—yet many would benefit from clearer training, support, and pathways to grow. Covenant Servant Leadership exists to come alongside churches in strengthening and supporting lay leaders.

As leadership responsibilities increase…

Across our churches, incredible volunteers step into leadership with deep faith and willingness, often learning as they go without clear training or pathways to grow.

Do they have the clarity and guidance they need to lead effectively?

This year is a season of listening, learning, and building. We’re working alongside churches to better understand what’s needed and to begin developing practical ways to equip and support lay leaders.

What WE're Building

Forming Leaders Who Serve with Clarity and Confidence

Covenant Servant Leadership exists to form spiritually grounded, skillfully prepared lay leaders who serve with clarity and confidence. In partnership across the Covenant, this work is being developed through a shared commitment to strengthening lay leadership. This work is focused on helping churches 1) equip ministry leaders to lead without constant pastor involvement; 2) create clearer pathways for volunteers to grow into leadership; 3) support boards and teams to lead with clarity and alignment. We are currently developing several key areas as we continue listening and building with churches.

Ministry Leaders

Helping lay leaders build effective ministries that bear lasting fruit for their communities.

Boards

Practical guidance for governance, decision-making, and healthy team dynamics.

Volunteers

Clear pathways to identify, develop, and sustain volunteer leaders in your church.

Staffing

Support for churches navigating staffing roles, supervision, and HR-related realities.

Prior to moving to the USA, I was a professor at the National University of Colombia and served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students in Colombia for 16 years. Starting in 2001, I served as InterVarsity National Staff in the USA. I have a master’s degree in Christian Ministries, and I serve in Spiritual Direction to those who want to be fully present and available to God and receive His grace over them. My joy is to see professors and college students coming to know Jesus and being transformed into people that bring the good news of righteousness and justice to others.
