Quake Shakes Portions of Mexico

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (March 20, 2012) – No Covenanters have been reported injured in the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that shook portions of Mexico today, said David Mark, Department of World Mission regional coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean.

“The earthquake shook a lot of the country, and Oaxaca, Guerrero and the Mexico City areas were affected by power outages and loss of phone service, but most has been restored or will be fairly soon,” Mark said.

The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported the quake had a magnitude of 7.9, but then lowered that to 7.4.
