Ieisha Hawley Named New Director of Evangelism

We are thrilled and honored to announce the addition of Rev. Ieisha Hawley to the Make and Deepen Disciples team as the new director of evangelism. Ieisha’s extensive career in ministry and experience serving as pastor, chaplain, and coach has prepared her to work with regional conferences and local congregations throughout the Covenant.

Ieisha is currently the lead pastor of Arlington United Church in Arlington, Washington, and will continue in her role there through June. A board-certified chaplain, she also works as religious coordinator with the Washington Department of Corrections and was previously administrative chaplain at New York City’s Rikers Island facility. A collaborative and visionary leader, Ieisha is passionate about sharing the gospel and has functioned as a ministry coach and mentor to diverse audiences. She also pastored a church plant for several years.

An ordained Covenant minister, Ieisha earned a master of divinity degree from Howard University, a bachelor’s in business administration and management from Rutgers University and has completed coursework and certificate programs in clinical psychology, leadership, and theology.

In her new role, Ieisha will be responsible for equipping Covenant pastors and leaders with tools and resources to support evangelism and discipleship efforts around the globe. In addition to her work with Make and Deepen Disciples, she will collaborate with other mission priority and mission support teams as needed. We look forward to welcoming Ieisha when she officially joins the denominational team on June 17.
