Demand for New Jesus Booklet Is Brisk

CHICAGO, IL (March 28, 2012) – Additional copies of the newly released booklet Jesus and the Great Story of God that was introduced during this year’s Midwinter Conference are now available for online ordering through Covenant Bookstore.

The booklet, authored by John Teter and Dave Olson, is intended to help Christians be inspired by the story of Jesus and encourage them to pray for, live out, and share that story with those who do not follow Jesus. “Few unbelievers have seen a clear and accurate picture of Jesus,” the writers observe. “They have absorbed inaccurate stereotypes and assumptions about him. They have not been . . . challenged by the power of his words. They simply do not know that Jesus is utterly amazing.

“Like John the Baptist, we must point our friends to the real Jesus, that they might see him,” they continue. “The solution is found in our calling to use our life and our words to bring Jesus into focus.”

Demand for the free booklet was high following its release with 40,000 copies distributed quickly. An additional 20,000 copies were ordered, but as of Tuesday (yesterday), only 10,000 of those copies remain.

The booklet, which is illustrated in full color, is available free to local Covenant churches. Shipping also is free to churches, paid for by the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism.

Editor’s note: Dave Olson serves as executive minister of the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism, where John Teter serves as evangelism team leader.
